How EBB works

The tide goes out. The rock stays. Here is what that means for balances.

Loose and staked

Loose EBB thins each cycle. EBB staked in the vault keeps its exact number.

Its share of what remains rises as the loose supply around it shrinks. Nobody is paid and nothing is minted.

The total can only fall or stay unchanged. A zero rate leaves balances unchanged.

An example, not launch terms

Start with the calculator example: 1,000 EBB inside a 1,000,000 EBB supply.

Stake 40% of your holding. That leaves 400 EBB staked and 600 EBB loose.

Choose a 2% test rate and let 12 cycles pass. Apply the floor to the loose balance each cycle.

loose = floor(loose * (1 - 0.02)), repeated 12 times

The staked 400 EBB stays 400 EBB. The loose 600 EBB becomes about 471 EBB.

The displayed result is rounded to whole EBB. The calculation floors atomic units after every cycle.

These inputs are examples. The rate and cycle length are not published yet.

The same rock as water fallsThree bowls show high water, ebbing water and lower water. Rock size stays fixed. This is a diagram, not a price chart.

Share and price

A fixed number can represent more of a smaller total. That does not set a market price.
